CSI Expands Closure Portfolio with Three High-Performance, Sustainable Innovations

Closure Systems International (CSI) is expanding its beverage closure lineup with three new commercial-ready designs that bring fresh thinking to operational performance, sustainability and consumer convenience. The Asepti-Lok 47 38mm, Omni mini XP 26mm, and Sport Flip Top 38mm each serve a unique purpose—from helping bottlers improve aseptic filling to lightweighting their carbonated beverage lines and supporting on-the-go consumers.

Asepti-Lok 47 38mm: Reliable, Lube-Free Protection for Aseptic Bottling

Developed for aseptically filled juices, nectars, sports drinks, and liquid dairy, the new Asepti-Lok 47 38mm closure ensures maximum product safety and line efficiency.

Its three-point sealing system—outside, top, and inside—preserves product integrity and delivers long-term hermetic sealing. A “smart venting” feature adds extra safety by releasing internal pressure before opening, while the lube-free design reduces maintenance and improves operational efficiency.

At 2.9 grams, this lightweight, one-piece, linerless closure integrates seamlessly into existing aseptic lines and offers consistent, consumer-friendly opening torques.

Omni mini XP 26mm: Lightweight Strength for Carbonated Applications

CSI’s Omni mini XP 26mm is the company’s latest generation of high-performance, ultra-lightweight closures for PET non-returnable bottles. Engineered for carbonated, cold-fill, and ambient-fill applications, it combines sustainability and line efficiency without sacrificing CO₂ retention or sealing performance.

Weighing only 1.8 grams, the Omni mini XP 26mm is more than 10% lighter than traditional 1881 one-piece CSD closures. When paired with the 26/22 GME 30.40 finish, total system weight is reduced by more than 25%, significantly cutting material use, carbon footprint and supporting sustainability goals.

With best-in-class CO₂ retention (up to 4.7 volumes) and consistent application performance at high line speeds, the Omni mini XP 26mm helps brand owners achieve lightweighting goals while maintaining durability and product quality.

Sport Flip Top 38mm: Designed for Active Lifestyles

Meeting demand for on-the-go hydration, the Sport Flip Top 38mm closure blends safety, convenience, and performance for hot-fill and cold-fill non-carbonated beverages, like juices, sports drinks, and functional waters. The newly designed closure delivers a consistent, refreshing flow rate that enhances the consumer drinking experience.

Its sleek, ergonomic profile allows one-hand opening, while dual tamper-evidence provides three-way assurance of safety—visual, audible, and tactile. The integrated tab eliminates loose components and reduces plastic waste.

Engineering Innovation Across Every Market

Together, these three new product launches underscore CSI’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence, sustainability and consumer experience—helping brand owners improve performance, reduce weight and meet evolving market demands worldwide.

“These new closures reflect CSI’s continued commitment to innovation that delivers real value for both our customers and consumers,” said Clint Rush, Global Director at Closure Systems International. “By combining reliable performance, lightweight design, and consumer-friendly features, we’re helping brand owners achieve their sustainability goals while enhancing product quality and packaging efficiency.”
