Double-Lok XT Plastic Closures for Carbonated Beverages
To CSD bottlers, plastic closures such as the XT are specifically designed to maximize CO2 sealing performance and beverage product freshness under extreme temperature cycling conditions.
Extreme conditions call for extreme packaging. That's why Alcoa CSI has developed the Double-Lok XT closure. It's specifically designed for PET beverage bottles to maximize CO2 sealing performance and beverage product freshness under the most demanding conditions. Alcoa CSI research shows that filled PET bottles can be subjected to extreme 'temperature cycling' - from 40 degrees F to over 135 degrees F. These conditions can cause shrinkage of the heat-sensitive PET material, which can cause a gap to develop between the bottle finish and the closure. The result: loss of CO2 and product freshness. The Double-Lok XT plastic closure improves the mechanical seal and maximizes product freshness in conditions where extreme temperatures can cause package leakers far into the distribution channel. Alcoa CSI's proven application performance and capping equipment provides bottlers with the best sealing performance in the industry under extreme temperatures.
