Alcoa CSI Egypt Opens for Business
December 6, 2004 -- Alcoa CSI announces that its Egyptian manufacturing operation was formally opened today. The event was attended by customers, state officials, suppliers and some of the many contributors to the project from within and outside Alcoa CSI. Speaking to the audience of invited guests, Eduardo Gemelli (General Manager, Alcoa CSI Europe) underlined the significance of this facility. He confirmed that the new plant is a very important development for Alcoa CSI and that it supports the Company’s aim of meeting customers need for prompt, competitive closure supply. The formal opening ceremony marks the end of the initial phase of a major project which involved a great deal of planning, preparation and considerable effort by many Alcoa personnel in and from different parts of the world. Many partner organisations also played an important role in preparing the plant for operations. Mr Gemelli expressed his sincere thanks to everyone who took part in the project. Alcoa CSI Egypt will provide local supply for customers in North Africa. The facility is located in 6th October City, an industrial development area outside Cairo. The Company will now be concentrating on ramping up its output over the coming months.
